B1 Commands — the imperative (¡habla!, ¡come!)

The imperative gives orders, instructions and advice.

Affirmative (tú)

For tú, use the él/ella present form: habla (speak!), come (eat!), escribe (write!). Watch the common irregulars: di, haz, ve, pon, sal, sé, ten, ven.

Negative and usted

The negative command and all usted commands use the subjunctive: no hables, hable usted, no coma.
